British parliamentarian: The UN must provide withdrawal of Armenian army from the Azerbaijani territories
Bob Blackman, MP of British Parliament, the chairman of the Inter-parliamentary friendship group of Great Britain-Azerbaijan made a statement regarding the violation of a ceasefire by Armenia on the contact line of troops of Nagorno-Karabakh. The European- Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) reports about this Trend News Agency.
The member of the Chamber noted that for a long time the tensions on the contact line of the troops was growing. “At the moment in the front zone fights are going. The UN must interfere this situation and provide withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the Azerbaijani territories as it is specified in its resolutions No. 822, 853, 874 and 882” Blackman told.
On Saturday night all border positions of Azerbaijan were subjected to intensive firing from large-caliber weapon, mortars, grenade launchers and artillery cannons. Besides, a number of settlements near the contact line of troops where the civilian population compactly lives were fired. As a result of firings there are dead and wounded among the civilian population.

The British Parliament raised the question of the Azerbaijani refugees
The problem of the victims of the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, about one million Azerbaijani refugees and displaced persons was raised at the last meeting of the British Parliament before the holiday of Christmas.
As Armenia.az European Azerbaijani Society (TEAS) informed to Armenia.az, before the Christmas holidays, Bob Blackman, the Chairman of the Inter-parliamentary friendship group of Great Britain-Azerbaijan, a Conservative Party politician, the member of the party of conservatives, the Member of Parliament made a speech at a parliamentary debate.
“The process of the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh lasts for many years. This is a forgotten conflict and unfortunately, the positions of Armenia, Russia and their allies couldn’t help the general situation. This year members of the Inter-parliamentary friendship group of Great Britain-Azerbaijan visited one camp for these people. They suffer, being innocent. It is very important that human rights and human values be restored in that region”.
This statement was made as a result of the visit to Azerbaijan of the Inter-parliamentary friendship group of Great Britain-Azerbaijan. In the visit organized with the assistance of The European Azerbaijani Society (TEAS), the delegation of the representatives of various parties was led by B. Blackman. Among them were deputy chairmen of the group Mark Menzis, Baroness Manzur, Lord Kilkluni and the secretary of group Roger Godstif. Recently, 8 members of the Friendship group took part in the opening of the exhibition of the famous German photographer Philip Ratmer under the name “5 roads leading to the house” consisting of portraits of the Azerbaijani displaced persons which took place in the London gallery “Old Truman Brewery”.
